Default Alarm and vac pipes questions

Hello from a new rb5 owner.

Recently got my 3rd Subaru and it happened to be an rb5 which I've been after for ages. I haven't got the keypad code so I know from previous cars how to reset it foe a new pin. Problem is it doesn't seem to be working. I am then disarm with the keyfob and within 30 secs type *17856*92*1234*1234# just using 1234 as an example of new pin code. After I type in the 6 I get a chirp from the alarm before pressing the star and at them end of it pressing the hash it chirps again so to me that the alarm telling you it's accepted the changes. I then arm it again open the door let the alarm sound and type in 1234 into the keypad but doesn't disarm the alarm. Am I missing something or doing something wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated. One other thing my vacuum lines are not plumbed up right or blanked off does anyone have a diagram please. Sorry for going on and thanks in advance

So 61 people have viewed but not one comment. I thought this was a forum a community where people share help and advise. I've tried searching and found lots of information regarding alarms but no mention of chirps also I have searched vacuum lines all I can fine are turbos and solenoid plumbing. Some community this is cheers for the help guys

EDIT:

From later post (#8), it appears that a Sigma S series alarm is fitted rather than the more usual M30 unit giving rise to programming code not working (Function codes for S series are 3 digit rather than 2)

I expect those that have looked aren't alarm specialists and neither am I, however you seem to have the process correct as below,

Changing your PIN:
- Arm and then Disarm the system using a working Radio Key.
- Within 30 seconds of disarming, type into the keypad: *17856*92*wxyz*wxyz# (where wxyz is your new PIN code)
- Arm the system with the Radio Key
- You should now be able to disarm the system using the new PIN code

but if it chirps after the 6, I would suspect it's not going to plan or possibly a duff keyboard.

Worth ploughing through this thread to see if there's any more info

or hope Toad Installer sees the thread.

As for vacuum lines, this may help......

Good luck

Hi Don Clark Thank-you for the information and post of the vacuum lines will check that after work. As for the keypad I have no idea why it chirps after pressing 6. In the past I have done it and it only chirps once at the end. Strange but thanks anyway fir the photo and reply

Am assuming that is on different vehicles to this one hence the keypad reference.

Sorry yes on previous cars I have done the pin reset and only ever got one chirp at the end when pressing the hash button to let you know it has been changed/accepted. That's why I was trying to find out why it was doing this first chirp after pressing number 6 as could not find any reference to it or anyone else experiencing this problem I have searched and searched but no joy that's why I posted. Thanks again

Best bet for vacuum line is to take some good pics and I will happily have a look.

From this, it would appear that the alarm you have fitted is a Sigma "S" series unit rather than the standard M30 unit usually fitted............
