Arghhh boot

My boot pull in the cockpit doesn't open my boot which as you can imagine is fecking annoying. Does anyone know how easy this is to fix and could I do it myself armed with very little technical know-how?

There's a little catch in the boot by the release that you can switch on or off to stop (or enable) the boot from being opened from the cockpit.
