Cambelt intervals
Is there a time interval to change cambelt?
I'm bringing a classic out of storage which has been dry stored for the last two years. I'm obviously going to changing fluids and filters, just wondering aout the necessity to do belts too. Engine has done about 10k since a rebuild, but that was 4/5 years ago by a previous owner.

The interval between belt changes is close to my heart - I am still running the original in my MY99 , although the engine has only done 70,000 km's , due to yearly mothballing while I'm away.
As I understand it , belts very rarely break , its the teeth that deteriorate and fail to engage in the various cogs , causing slippage or the tensioner fails resulting in timing error/piston/valve interference.
I am going to inspect mine this year for any oil, water ingress and or any obvious signs of wear etc.
If it looks bad , then I'll do a complete replacement .If not I'll leave it for another year.
