'08 Diesel Legacy Oil pump location
Where is it?
I've got most of the front in bits on the drive, Just before I crack open the front case (solid cast piece) should it look like this "pump A" on the front of the crank?
I've found this on the bottom left cam shaft "small pump B " surely that's just a small oil pump for the turbo?
I've had the oil light flicker on at low RPM last week and yesterday can't get the light to go off at all. check the pressure with a gauge and it's barely 20psi when revved. Currently trying to find a fix. I put new oil in it as soon as I saw the light but that's not helped.
5w-30 Synthetic with a new filter naturally. I'll look at the pump and drop the sump to check the pickup pipe after this. but angingling the car any way didn't help so I ruled out the pipe initially.
Advice would be great but yeh.. Where's the oil pump?

As rob says, this sounds more to me of the early stages of the crank about to snap due to the bearings failing.
If I recall no5 bearing also has the thrust bearing...when this goes the excessive end float of the crank causes the oil ports between the block/bearings and crank to misalign causing oil starvation...hence the light coming on.
These also suffer excessive fuel dilution of the oil making it far too thin and is probably one of the cause of the bearing failing (although there is a design issue as well).

Your help is filling me with such mixed emotions. Most of them not good.
Is the fuel dilution issue anything I can remedy? The oil does seem thin but I can't smell fuel in it.
I'll have to get more to bits apart at the weekend.

Sorry about that. It does seem these engines don't have a good reputation. Just googling "EE20 crankshaft" brings up a load of horror stories 
The most obvious sign of fuel dilution is the oil level going up instead of down between services. But that's assuming the engine doesn't use any oil, which most do, be it from the turbo or breathers...and they consume more oil as it thins out, so level may not always change. The only remedy is to change the oil regularly and if it has a DPF see if it's possible to view the live data on the diagnostics port to see if it show the distance travelled from the last regeneration; too frequent causes excess fuel to go into the sump
