Default Stock MAP sensor Limits Boost !

I've been told im limited to 1.5 bar boost by my stock 2003 sti MAP sensor, on ECUTek

To run 1.6/1.7 bar, what other stock subaru MAP sensor can i fit ?

Am i right that a Hawkeye Sti one will do me ?
or is it only the JDM Spec C ??

I think it's all down to your ecu that limits boost 1.55 bar. An after market ecu will eliminate that.
Ecutek still uses the stock ecu, it's just a file put on to it.
Afaik.

You're correct the uk map sensor only reads just over 1.5bar, any jdm map sensor will read up to 1.7 bar. Beyond that you will need an aftermarket 3 bar map sensor, it has nothing to do with ecu board itself.

my 2005 jdm struggled to control boost on the standard ecu with the 3 bar at anything over 1.5 was not accurate simon wanted to fit a boost controller i was not happy the have boost controlled by one so opted for a syvecs

Boost control itself is completely separate and I agree an aftermarket ecu or even an avcr are much better than the standard ecu

Not sure about the UK cars, can only answer for the JDM's. You would need to ask a mapper who has mapped a UK hawk

I don't see why a UK and JDM map sensor would be any different, both should read up to 1.7bar. Standard boost on a JDM is nowhere near 1.7bar so there would be no need to fit a higher rated one.
If you are aiming for 1.7bar then you will be right on the limit of boost/fuel cut,so if you want 1.7bar the get an aftermarket 3bar map sensor which will read up to 2bar.
