Default Classic exhaust manifold- I can't refit it! Must be simple if you could look

This is quite embarrassing - I'm a rally boy and fairly adept but I'm clearly being a muppet as I can't get my up pipe fitted to my new engine!!! It isn't the engine- test fitted on old engine it came off too!

I have split the manifold apart, but even just fitting drivers side manifold section back on, the up pipe isn't level and is too far away from the block ? See pic below I hope- there isn't an extra short section before up pipe?

I would fit all the gaskets, leave all the flange joints 'finger tight' including where they bolt onto the heads, get the up pipe to sit right and the support bracket bolted to the head.
Then go through and tighten the flange joints up.
Were the headers and up pipe originally fitted to your Version 3~4 engine in the picture ?

You know you have chosen the right place to get your engine from when hey call you at 9 on a sat night!!

Up pipe is a Harvey (rip) one and the slip joint had moved- cut heat wrap off and moved it!

And the garage- RM motorsports - a new company with old faces!

Harvey Smith name lives on through ourselves as we manufacture and distribute them.......

Looks like you had turned the top flange approx 180 degrees for some reason
