Default Rocker cover gasket 2008

I'm just in the process of changing my rocker cover gasket drivers side o/s on my 2008 hatch Sti. I've cleaned all the mating surfaces but can seem to see where the half moons are. Can anybody clarify if they have half moons on this model? I was getting a very slight leak at the bottom corner at the back of the cover.

Not fitted on twin avcs heads, so you won't find them, unusual for these type of covers to leak.

I would be carefull with oil leaking onto the heat wrap, that's one hell of a fire risk first time that gets a decent whack of heat into it.

It's a very very small leak that just form residue all most in the back corner. It doesn't even create enough oil to drop on the exhaust but it's annoying seeing it so I want to sort it. I've taken the seal out and it seems fine so maybe the mating face had something causing a gap.

This picture shows the area where it's leaking and if you look there is some scoring marks on the mating face.

Looking again at the pics, cam trigger looks wet with something, also has it been previously rebuilt with Wellseal on the covers ?

There seemed to be some sort of sealant on there yeah. And that might just be spillage from the little catch tank in the rocker cover as I lifted it off.

As for the sealant yeah there seams to be the remains of some sealant there. What makes you ask mate?

Ok so the gasket seems fine and I cleaned everything of, my question is do you rebuild this with additional sealant of does the gasket do the job on its own? If sealant if needed can somebody explain where to apply it?

You need sealant as per Subaru OE fitment, which is on the front cam cap cover, all of it, paying attention to the join lines to the head, if your re using the gaskets, not really a good move, you will be better using a small amount on all the faces.
