Dump valve
Hi Guys,
Im new on the site and new scooby owner as well.i read lots of comments regards the dump valve it will causing issues if u change it from the recirculating ones for atmosphare type ones.
So i've changed mine for the hks sqv model (i know its not gaining power but i love the sound of it)
What i've noticed my turbolag nearly disappaired.
How is possible this?
Also i had a chat with Neil from slowboy racing he said DV can be mapped to the car so if you like the sound like me just need to mapping the ecu for it.
Planing to do some mods in the close future then see Neil for mapping.
Hopefully getting around 270-280hp.

a dump valves purpose is to redirect the air when you close the throttle (come off the accelerator pedal) as it has no where to go as it cant enter the engine and would otherwise head back to the turbos compressor wheel causing it to stall or slow down rapidly (compressor stall) some people like the flutter noise it creates but happily slag others for having a vent to atmosphere valve and will lecture you about how bad it is for your engine when what they are doing is just as bad for your turbo. your car will run rich as your maf has measured the amount of air entering the engine and injected the right amount of fuel for your target a/f r. the ecu has no way of knowing that some of the air has been vented away, with a recirc the air goes back into the engine. as you say a mapper will account for this during mapping if you have one fitted.

Thank you your answer
I defo will map the car just thinking about the mods
Im not fancy having de cat then risk it when will be pulled out by police
Thinking about sport cat, decat up pipe airfilter and mapping.this should give me around 280bhp
If i leave it in standard just change the air filter for high flow type one then mapping should give me 260-265
The question is would it be worth to change for sport cat £250 for 20bhp?
That is what im thinking
