Why you thinking of getting a cone filter? For sound or do you think it will improve performance?

I don't think a LARGE cone filter will fit in the wing, might be wrong tho?
Increasing airflow so you will want it mapping in.
Also I know classics running maf can kill the maf sensor using cone filters(not to sure about newage?) so you might want to think about going mafless.
If you're not thinking of taking the the car over 400bhp and going FMIC then I would stick with the oem airbox with a decent panel filter.
Doing the Intake snorkus delete will give you some sound if that's what you're looking for.

What's the intake snorkus delete mate?

Am near 300 bhp now so wanna stay here. No plans for more power. Just maintain and detail paint work and it to look and sound good. Only use it twice to three times a week

Have a look around the forum mate, loads of really useful info if you type anything into the search box.
Here's a little info on the snorkus...:..:

Also have a look on YouTube for how it sounds when removed

I have a huge K&N in the inner wing on my blob, needed it to get over 400bhp, I left the snorkus in place, removed the reosnator but cut off the part that the snorkus attaches to, put that back, bought one of those cheap blue inner wing kits off ebay, then cut the metal pipe that goes down into the inner wing just after the bend, fit the filter on to that. The filter is about 9" long and 5" wide I thiink.

I didnt want the filter sitting too far down in case it got wet, I wanted it just under the bit of the resonator i left to take in cold air via the snorkus.

Standard recirc sounds great. There is a lot of induction noise though.

Cone filters are ok as long as the MAF is secure, the problem is people leave them loose and the vibration kills them, secure the cone well and the MAF should be ok
