Default TD 05 on a 96 classic

Guys , my turbo needs a rebuild but the people need the exact part number to give me a quote. I havent removed it yet so cant check the stamping and i cant find it on the net, Any ideas??

Is td05 on the early 92-96 models. Td04 thereafter.

No mate all 2000 uk impreza's came with the td04. Import models like the wrx had td05's.

No mate, as far as i'm aware all UK turbo's from 1994-2000 had the TD04 turbo. early models had 208bhp and later models had 215bhp.

The imported WRX models, 1992-1996 were all TD05, after that i think they switched to VF22's.

no, all pre facelift uk models had the tdo5 turbo
all preface lift wrx/sti saloon/wagons had the tdo5
the only pre facelift to have the the tdo4 was the wrx wagon.

Really hmmm, never new that, my apologises. I will have to do some research.

So if the pre 1996 UK models had a TD05, why such poor bhp. The Import Wrx's had the TD05 with forged engine 260-280 bhp. Mine was 1995 with TD05.

Higher octane fuel was available in Japan, IIRC.
