05 turbo baja tgv sensor replacement
Hello,
I am hoping someone can give me an answer to a problem I have with my 2005 turbo Baja, quick explanation: got a check engine light and cruise control flashing light yesterday. dropped by the dealer and had them run a diagnostic and got back p2007 and they said I will have to replacine tgv assembly to the tune of 1300 bucks. the sensor was determined to be the problem and my question is why can't I just replace the sensor, dealer says I must replace the entire assembly. is this true. or could I just order the entire part from them and replace the sensor only. or can I get the sensor only somewhere. dealer says it must match my vin not just any tgv sensor will work, what do you guys think ,hope you can help.

Welcome to Scoobynet. I had to look up Tacoma; great countryside in your part of the world.
Check and clean the connections between solenoid and sensor first.
Use an recommended indie specialist, not dealer, they will tell you if you can part replace, or someone here might help as it is a common problem. Here in the UK you can delete the tgv, but you may not be able to due to emissions. You have Roopair Subaru specialist in Tacoma, and many others in Seattle; dealers are stealers!
Try UKLegacy . com forum here, very helpful, same as Baja.
