Play in steering arms
MOT advisory (MY00, UK turbo): play in both steering arms.
I can't find much about steering arms, are they known by a different name?
And is it worth replacing them with uprated parts?
Thanks
Nick

I would check its not inner steering rack arms. I had to do one of mine on a classic. I little bit harder than changing the outers, but do-able.

Thanks. With hindsight (a wonderful thing
) I would have asked the MOT tester to be more specific.
Is there a way of checking which is worn, track rods or inner track arms?

jack the car up, grab the wheel at a 3 and 9 position and rock it whilst getting someone to grab the track rod end and inner rack arm and see which play is felt in
