help with a turbo please!?!?
So.......................... stupidly I tried to replace the seals and bearings on my turbo today and low and behold ive goosed it! Its in bits at the minute and i'd like to buy the same size but it has no markings on it to save on a remap. I was told it was a td05 but there are no markings on it, with it being in bits ive measured the turbine wheel, housing etc and googled and apparently I have a td06!? apparently capable of between 300 and 450, looking at 3 different models, my car only made 290 on the rolling road with this turbo, sti pinks, sti I/c, 3" decat and 2.5" exhaust and apparently a walbro 255. Am I right in thinking this is a) the wrong turbo b) mapped before having this turbo fitted?
help !!!!!!! haha
I need a new turbo and don't know which to buy, plus will I have to have a full map for just a turbo or will a tweak suffice?
Thanks for any help

A td06 on a wrx would be laggy. As above its making td04 power. Id start by looking if you have got pinks fitted and then go vf route 35s route most go but 28s cheaper make same sort of power with faster spool. Either way you going to either tweak map to suit or pay for another map.

It is laggy as a mother! The fella at the rolling road place said that, one thing he did say was that the actuator wasn't set properly and was open slightly.
This turbo has no markings on it appart from on the core and that's not a lot, 6N on one side and K2 on the other, looking on ebay there is a td05 20g with the same specs as mine apart from the turbine housing size.
The pinks are definitely in, ive heard that vf's are more responsive.
