Exhaust 2.75 - 2.5"

I have a 2.75" bore sports-CAT downpipe to replace my standard CAT and midpipe, will it fit to my standard 2.5" rear pipe?

If not, can an adapter be fitted or would I need a new 2.75" CAT-back system?

I would think so. I just fitted a 3" cat back to my blob and found out there was 2.5" cat back attached to 3" downpipe without any adapters...
