Default Lambda sensor

Got a 98` impreza sti which failed it`s MOT on emissions,
co level too high at 2.5 max is 0.5 and Lambda reading too high at 1.043, max is 1.030,
garage said probably the Lambda sensor needs changing,
Any advice welcome, especially where to buy one as on ebay they range from £20 to £90, and i`d rather buy a quality one that`ll work. thanks.
