TGV delete
Right an uninformed newbie question folks...
Various people are advertising the red STI inlet manifold with this and are always saying its an ideal upgrade for the WRX , so what is it ? What does it do ? And most importantly, is it worth doing ?
Just because its punted as an upgrade doesn't always mean it is of course .

TGV Delete FAQ
The primary purpose of a TGV delete is to remove the divider bar and butterfly valve inside the TGV assembly to improve airflow to your engine.
HP gain is 12 HP. This figure is highly debated as different manufacturers use different dynos with different cars with different levels of mods.

the TG butterfly valve turbulates the airflow in the intake manifold giving a better mixing of air and fuel, leading to a more efficient fuel burn at low/ mid revs.
Delete could impact on emission results at MOT.
Delete could be considered if forging the WRX engine in search of more power but otherwise there wouldn't be much gain, if any.
