Default Rattle or knock at idle after mods

Hello

I recently upgraded my 1999 uk 2000 Impreza with vf34 turbo, turbo smart fpr, 555cc Jecs injectors, decat downpipe.
Before the mods it ran smooth and noise free has been well looked after with lots of service history.
I started the car after new mods were completed and at first car running smooth oil pressure steady and good same as before, vacuum is same and steady then white smoke bellowing out of right hand side of engine coming from underneath after 40 seconds of idle running then about 30 seconds after that a noise that I can only describe as a clattering noise that isn't too loud and is not consistent however it becomes more frequent quickly then I turned engine off quickly.
I hope I'm right in thinking the smoke is a red herring and is simply where I have split coolant when disconnecting the header tank and will burn off eventually, it does have a sweet smell to it.
How ever the noise is worrying, the car is booked for a full map next week in which it is getting trailered to, is this expected as the mixture has become too lean/rich due to mods.

Any help would be much appreciated
Thank you

If it sounds like a skeleton having a **** in a biscuit tin then could be bottom end failure.
Did you fill the oil filter with oil and disconnect crank sensors before turning the car over? Presuming you did an oil change?

You're best getting it checked out properly but doesn't sound good, you should always fill the filter and get some oil circulating around the engine but cranking it with a sensor unplugged so the car doesn't start straight away.

is doesn't start making any noise until about 40 secs to 1 minute on 3 occasions when I turned it over.
Surely it would make noise straight away once damage is done? I may be wrong

Check your injectors are seated properly.

Could see any fuel leaks around injectors.
I just find it hard to believe that damage can be caused that quick on tick over surely oil cannot take that long to circulate

Not on about fuel. Air leak around injector can sound very curios sometimes.

Ah sorry I see, I can really describe the sound but it's seems to be coming from the left hand side of the engine and starts off just a couple of cracks random then starts becoming more frequent?

Does it sound like an internal engine noise? Or is it a tinny rattle like a loose heat shield?

Not so much a tinny noise more of a crackling noise which starts off with just a few small cracks here and there then to more consistent crackling noise on left hand side of engine turbo side, I did get a chance to invest further as I panicked and turned it off
