Default mapping day advice

just after some opinions for tomorrows mapping session lads. had a new fuel pump fitted already and i have a few other bits i was going to fit. i have a decat pipe to fit but also have a set of standard headers which have been ported and wrapped but mechanic reckons a waste of time as they are the same as the headers that are fitted. i kinda see what he,s saying but surely the fact they are ported and wrapped makes them worth fitting? even if just to help with spool and keep temps down under the bonnet? i also have an apexi 3 port boost solenoid which surely is worth fitting as well for better boost control? finally i have an induction kit which is an inner wing type but i dont have time now to sort a cold air feed to the inner wing but could use the short pipe to fit a short ram set up. i know people say the standard airbox is good and i already have a k & n panel filter in there but is it worth doing? thanks for any advice lads cheers. car is a bug sti btw.

if the headers are ported and your currnet ones arnt then fit em, not as good as proper aftermarket ones but should be better than standard as long as the porting has been done well.

Yes fit the 3 port.

If your not going wing mounted then keep the uprated panel filter option

I see you've been reading facebook

Open source or dyno is rubbish mate.

Road or dyno mapped is what you mean. Open source is just the software used like ecutek, they can be mapped on the road or the dyno.

Thing i find rather amusing is some of the people who harp on about road mapping then take theirs for dyno mapping hahaha

I stand corrected with my wrong wording but insinuating one does or does not know the difference batten road mapping and dyno mapping is a bit harsh and I don't have Facebook but definetley had my last scoob road mapped by Andrew Carr 100% no offence

AFP prefers ecutek if still using standard ecu over open source and maps on the road .Which I presume the main poster will be using for mapping

car was indeed mapped on the road using ecutek. made 340 bhp @ 1.5 bar with the 2 boost settings on the demister switch and pulls like a train neutral position switch is a bit sticky so gonna swap that out as andy said the midrange will feel better once its done. waiting on andy sending a screen cap of the graph. headers def helped as the boost comes on quicker than before.

You'd have to take the gearbox off to replace the neutral position sensor unless there's an easier way?? so time for a lighter flywheel with an upgraded clutch kit etc sounds expensive a

apparently you can drop the rear gearbox support mount which gives enough room for access.

Fit ported header, they do make a slight difference to flow for deffo. Fit 3 port and leave stock air intake on as they are better than induction kit as induction looses mid grunt. Unless fitting fmic and running high hp I'd keep stock one on
