Did you check your coilpacks for cracks? They fail with age.
That coilpack is under 10 years old. I know how old it is because I replaced all 4, 9 years ago. If your car is on original coilpacks, I'm surprised it still works.
Swap the injectors over, see if the misfire follows.
Misfire is usually plug/coil pack related? Although it a duff injector wouldn't help mattters.

I don't want to put words in anyone's mouth, so I won't say what has already been suggested or tried. I'd like to get opinions, thoughts about how to fix this as i'd really like to be able to drive it for the first time.
Any help appreciated
By the sounds of it, the OP has randomly replaced 1 coil pack. No mention of whether the one replaced, or any of the others were checked for cracks.
The cynic in me thinks that the car is in a garage that doesn't know what they are doing.
Diagnosing stuff over the internet is damned hard, not knowing what has been already tried makes it even harder.
IMO, I think it's got a decat exhauset as that's the most likely reason for the emmisions fail, fit a set of newage coil packs and PFR7B plugs and see if it's still got a misfire. <That is cheaper than fitting a new set of early coilpacks!
