P1 engine
hi all, new on here.
Just bought myself a very nice p1 from a friend.
My problem is that when I got home the thing has lay down.
At the minute a best guess is the big ends, so after some research it looks like best case scenario is a new crank, acl bearings and a rod.
I'm in Northern Ireland and I'm the waiting list for it to go to a very well respected Subaru guy here, probably 3 weeks or so before he can take it.
I'm trying to figure out what to do with it now.
Been doin a bit of research online for a 2.1 stroker and possibly a 2.5 short motor. I know it's to early to tell what's wrong but I like the idea of a bit more power. And bows the time to do it.
Any ideas without going mad with the money?
Also, I don't want to hurt the future value of the car by it not being "original".
Please help
Current spec
Blitz nur spec exhaust
Waldro pump
Bob rawle remap(recently)
Bc coil overs

Very few P1's will have the standard engine and it's not really that important for retaining the value of the car considdering the suspension and exhaust you have is hardly original.
I have recently fitted a V8 sti short block with my P1 heads and some other choice bits. For a standard lock you'd be better looking at a newage block for the better crank oil ways and scdb.

Hi, only used super unleaded and avoided bp.
It has A hard metal on metal sound and a loud knock.
As for standard stuff, I have the original exhaust and suspension so no major issues that way. Some else suggested a v8 short motor but I'm not sure what way to go
