Makes a very noticeable difference, longer throw crank means faster piston speeds which equates to faster exhaust gases which spool the turbo a lot faster. Big chunk more torque too. Mine is on 92.5mm bores with a 79mm crank.
2.1's still love to rev too, unlike a 2.5 for instance.

DOn't have the low down grunt of a 2.5,,, lol
but yeah 2.1 and 2.5 rive very differen't, 2.5 low down lazy reving, 2.1 laggier revy engine

There are a lot of things Subaru didn't do, which is why they've squandered most of the goodwill and reputation that they built up during the rally years. I wonder how many Classic and Newage owners 'upgraded' to the hatch when it appeared? Not too many I'm sure.
So the mild stroker kit comprises of 2.5 crank, 2.0 pistons and I take it bespoke length conrods?
There's a few ways to do it. All based around a 2.5 crank, but you can use different length rods, or stroker pistons. Mine has stroker pistons in it built into a SCDB.

Rods/pistons need to be 2mm shorter. Interesting thought

If I was going to break the 2.0 barrier, I would do it properly. Like what Andy F has done with his 3.6 flat six twin turbo, I could easily make something similar.

I don't need to prove anything to anyone! That type of project is easy for me, I've done loads of similar things in the past.
