Hi everyone,

This is my first post so bare with me. I've just bought a 2009 WRXS & I've fitted a cosworth induction kit. It sounds great apart from when I'm driving normally there's a rattle noise between gears, when I drive fast the noise doesn't happen. I've checked and double checked that the induction kit it's hitting anything which it's not & when I fit the old airbox back on the car the noise goes away also. I'm at a loss thinking of what it is, is this normal? Has this happened to anyone else? I love the noise of the induction kit but this rattle is starting to annoy me and I'm thinking of getting rid of the induction kit already.

 

Could be a heat shield loose or the cats broken up in the exhaust

 

what kind of rattle, are you sure it's not just increased turbo noise from the induction kit open filter? See if you can nab a video and stick it on youtube to share

 

Hi there, thanks for your replies. Ive been sat on the drive all day testing all sorts and worked it out although I'm a bit confused. I changed the dump valve back to the stock recirc and the noise went away. Turns out it's the valve inside the dual port dump valve making the noise, reading up this seems to be common. I'm confused though as I fitted the dump valve without the induction kit some weeks ago and there was not rattle, now that the induction kit is on the rattle started, can't understand what's changed? Does anyone know of a dump/blow off valve that doesn't rattle?
