Help Fitting Headers
Hi All,
Just a quick one really... when changing headers is the general opinion that it is better to assemble the up pipe to the headers and then the headers to the engine or vice versa? I have the 3 bolt type and really struggle either way, if I put together first then I dont seem to be able to get the up pipe through the gap at the back of the engine, and if I do the up pipe after then the 3rd bolt is a right PITA to get to and get any sort of tightness on. any help appreciated.

I think support the manifold just under the engine, then feed the up pipe down the back, should be more room to do the bolts up, then lift the whole lot onto the engine. It's undoing that 3rd up pipe bolt when it's all in place, that's the fun bit. Bit of rust, and no room to swing a spanner. Had to chisel mine off the last 2 times to get the manifold off and leave the up pipe in place.

About to fit some GT Spec headers inc Uppipe to my Widetrack, useful info to know this. Out of interest where do people get replacement nuts and bolts from, and what size are they? My headers are used but the uppipe is new so didn't get any bolts with them, unless most people use the OEM ones if they are not rusted??
