Default Mafless Vs Maf

Tried searching but maybe I'm searching for the wrong thing... Basically what are the advantages of each? mentioned it to my mapper and he said I was better off with a MAF, just wondered why some people choose to remove.

MAF are weak and if they fail can cause engine to let go if you don;t know its gone and carry on driving. Some ecu's retain maf for idle control even if claimed mafless.

Tend to find true mafless systems are more expensive but have more adjustability for fine tuning the map.

Personaly i'd go alkatek or syvecs

That seems like a lot of upsides of Mafless but no downsides? Are there any disadvantages of mafless?
