Hi guys,

This is might be a silly question, so I'll apologise in advance...

I had my window down for the first time in owning the car and as I was driving along in 1st/2nd and accelerating I could hear a strange air noise coming from the engine. It's not a dump valve whooshing noise as I have a re-circ one and I don't have an induction kit either. It's more of a sort of sucking/hissing noise and I can only try to describe it as sounding like: FT-FT-FT-FT-FT it increases in speed as the engine increases in speed.

Is it a normal induction noise? Or does it sound like I have a leaking pipe/faulty dump valve etc? The only other thing I can think of is the new panel air filter that I had fitted when getting it mapped. As far as I know it could have been doing it for sometime and I just haven't realised, or its a perfectly normal induction/turbo noise!

Has the airbox resonator been removed?

Kev, I don't think so, had a brand new turbo back exhaust fitted a few months ago and it had an MOT last month which passed with flying colours.
