Default How can I fix this...

Hi All,

I recently put on some ABW arches and some wide wheels and tyres etc and have a little problem where my wheel sits a little too far back and just about hits the inside of the arch when on full lock... will adding more caster solve this? Car is a 2002 bugeye and I have the alloy lower arms so was thinking of doing the mod where you flip the plate to add caster...?

Do the mod mate and maybe an anti lift kit aswel as that'll increase caster.

Thanks mate, will do the flip mod and see how it sits after that... moving the wheel forward etc is not something that can be done when I take my car for a gemoetry setup right?

Who ever does your geo can do it for you but you need suspension componants fitted that will allow a caster adjustment.

Also... Get the arches painted properly! Looks like they were painted with a rattle can

(Sorry)

At the moment I just have adjustable coilovers fitted (Height, spring rate, camber, damper) but I would of course consider buying components if they would help

Haha no need to apologise mate, you are right they were rattle canned, whole car is getting resprayed end of May so didnt bother shelling out to get the arches sprayed properly, but wanted them to look better than the white they come in for the mean time. Oh and Which components will help adjust caster?

It will give a fixed amount of increased caster.

You may also need to take an adjuster (read lump hammer) to that seam that protrudes out of the arch.

In all honesty that was my first approach to bash it in... but it didnt fold down very well, felt very strong, was wondering if I could grind it away with an angle grinder or if it was "doing something" important if that makes sense?

If you have adjustable top mounts you can swap left to right and rotate then you'll gain caster, unless you buy some that have adjustable caster to begin with.

Just done a lot of googling and it seems that if I take my coilover top mounts off and swap sides and rotate them I can then adjust caster, going to give this a go aswell as the lower arm mod.
