So, I’ve got a little knocking noise from my engine when I’m driving. I can’t hear anything when it’s ticking over or when I accelerate, but when I lift off at about 3k there is a little tapping noise for a second. It may do it at other times but I just haven’t noticed. I need to get it checked out but i was wondering if anyone has any idea what it might be and what to expect?
And that leads me on to my second question, if the engine is knackered, and depending on costs, what are my options for engine buliders in the Derby area or with regards to dropping another motor in. The car is a MY99 uk turbo but I was wondering if I could drop an sti motor in from another year?
I’m not looking to do a big power build and cost will be a factor on what I decide to do
