Default Fuel pump control unit

Hi I've got a 2002 wrx uk impreza

I'm in the process of wiring up a external fuel
Pump
I've been told to wire off the fuel pump control
Unit

Does anyone know what pins are what on the controller unit?

Interested it know this as I'm getting rid of my control unit and putting a reylay in there instead

I need to keep the pump control unit as it does the high and low current voltage from the Ecu
That's what I've been told

an external pump runs flat out, what you don't really want is it running when the engine is stopped with the ignition switched on. By connecting it to the fuel pump controller you pick up on what happens to the standard pump i.e. primes when ignition switched but cuts off until engine is cranked.
If you haven't already, you should install a 30amp 4point relay, Terminal No's 30, 87.85,86,
connect battery to No 30, external pump to No 87, Fuel pump controller (6 wires) outside black No1 (negative) to No 86, Black/white No5 (of the 6) (switched negative) to No 85. I'm fairly certain I've got 86 and 85 the correct way around but not 100% as I did this nearly 2 years ago.

sorry for bringing this back too life.

my 6 wires to the fuel control unit are layed out different to the way mentioned above. (uk sti newage). i have done all the wiring as above but my extenal pump continues to run after the tank pump has stopped after a few seconds. what am i missing.
is the walbro in tank pump just priming to reach a pressure then shuts off, i dont understand as it feeds a pot that returns to the tank and should not reach any kind of pressure.
why is the o44 not turning off with the tank pump.. please help as this is starting to drive me crazy. thanks guys

you need to use the live that feeds the in tank pump to bring in a relay

all sorted now
uk sti newage fuel control unit. use both thick black/white wires, i used a multimeter to find + and - of the 2.

Yeah mate you use both the main feeds from the fuel pump control unit
Live and negative

As when the pump primes the ecu signal is one positive and negative
When it stops priming both wires goes to positive. Probz noticed that when u had your muiltmeter on it

I wouldn't run two pumps off the same live... you need a relay in there to carry the load.
