Default turbo and non turbo internals

Hello, new to the imprezas and not had my 99 UK turbo wagon long running 300 bhp and the bottom knock has begun already, I want to know if the bottom ends are the same between the turbo and non turbo ej20 lumps,

From what I read the crank is the same but the rods and pistons are different, there's a member on here who rebuilt with non turbo parts can remember his name though

Crank, rods and block are the same. Pistons are the difference.

Ahh ok it's not long had rings and pistons in apparently according to invoice and previous owner say so, I reckon I'll just take it off the road and rebuild properly, what would you guys recommend changing except the obvious crankshaft and bearings?

Depends if anything else is damaged.

Minimum you are going to need bearings and crank unless you want to risk reground but I wouldn't.

Plus engine seal/gasket set
Maybe a head bolt set
Head gasket set
Cambelt kit
Oil pump
Cooling modine

Some other little bits and bobs. I would do water pump too while you are doing the belt.

Anything you reuse will need to be properly checked and cleaned.

By the time you have done that might as well do a forged build with pistons and rods too then its all done.

Well the long term plan was to get this engine running sound again then source another lump to strip and rebuild with all uprated parts maybe it's not going to workout that way, 2nd car may be needed now lol
