Best bolt on turbo for up to 400hp?...
Hi guys, what's the best bolt on turbo for a 2004 STi looking for 400hp or close to.
It must be truly bolt on with no mods required.
I have seen the sc40 which looks great but what else is out there?
Cheers Ian

The Turbo Technics T36 is aimed squarely at that target. In fact we've easily been exceeding it. We would say it's a good choice between 380 and 450 bhp being capable of running 2 bar boost. It's a billet wheel turbo, direct bolt on and comes with an oil/water line fitting kit. Price only £1080 including vat delivered.
As below!
It's available exclusively from us on 01752 345880

Always hear good things about the MD turbos, I myself got a Zenperformance TD05-20G, should get around 370/80bhp once all mapped up - other supporting mods too though..
Edit: your not just suddenly going to go from 300bhp to 400bhp by just changing the turbo...
You'll need an upgraded fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, 3 port boost solenoid might need bigger injectors too though could be wrong.

My mapper has recommended the sc42 but I really like the price of the T36.
As for upgrades I'm already running a Bosch 044 and will be upgrading the injectors as well. Oh and I have the 3 port too.

Ahhhh ok, you didn't say that originally. Sounded like you were just expecting to get 400bhp lol

yeah theres a few turbos around the same sort of target power with different price,in reality i think its only what couple of hundred in it?
but untill someone back to backs the same car dont think you'll find out exactly which is best, results seem pretty similar so cheaper option may well be best route to go.

Well it's a toss up between the T36 from Alan Jefferey and the SC40/SC42 from the clinic, the MD321 range looks great but has a massive difference in price. So the T36 is winning at the minute.

Built engine, GT spec headers, 3 inch exhaust, 750cc injectors, Perrin front mount and induction, uprated fuel pump.
Nothing particularly trick, just basic supporting mods. Mapped on Ecutek racerom.
