Default bug eye radiator problem

hi 6 months ago i noticed the plastic part of the top of rad had split so i replaced it with one off ebay-new this has a hole somewhere in the middle of the rad, any ideas if theres a bigger problem here other than buying a cheap rad from ebay? no other noticable issues no overheating no smoke etc

Nope, just cheap radiators (all of them are that have the plastic ends on them, even the original), Ive put two new ones on mine in 5 years, easy job, cheap and not the end of the world.

Not sure on the second one, but the original bug eye rad appears to be prone to this issue (mine went and I've seen other posts that they split along the top). It put out some steam occasionally, but otherwise was running OK. The when it cooled slightly I couldn't see the split as it was hair line so took a little time to diagnose.

Most folks will recommend 50/50 dilution ratio (about 7 litres total iirc) though to be honest I have used less in the past, obviously if your area is sub zero in the winter then 50/50 is best.
