Default Idle issues after ECU upgrade

Hello

I am new to the Subaru scene, however having owned many cars i am wondering why i haven't earlier. A few months ago i bought a mint condition 1999 V reg, 2lt AWD impreza turbo with full history and only 55K on the clock. I wanted to do some factory type upgrades so i have now added a prodrive backbox, inter cooler and pipes, panel filter and decat front exhaust. Today I secured a Prodrive ECU and fitted and the problem is as follows:

After fitting and starting the car from cold it fired up and idled as it has done
Once warmed up it took it for a spin and it pulled through the gears very well, however when i came to idle the car fluctuated from 0 (ie cutting out) to 900 rpm and as a result would idle at rest. I have sence replaced the ECU with the old one and whilst the problem hasn't disappeared it is still there only less extreme.

Does anyone know what fault this could be as my first thought was the ECU but it does appear to happen with both?

The old ECU was a Y7 22611 AE802 A18-000D3L 9830
The new one is a SP 1001056110 A18-000D1X 2222

Maybe a loose pipe if you've swapped around parts

Sorry it may be useful to say the mods, except the ECU upgrade, were done a few months ago and the car was fine during this time, although it did idle a little lumpy once or twice but not that it was causing cut outs. Hope this helps

Thanks I have ordered a new Maff from Subaru today so hopefully once fitted may cure the issue. Have also ordered a idle valve gasket set so will clean that as well. Does anyone have a pic of where it is and how best to clean?

Will keep you posted

All. Thanks for your help on this issue. I cleaned the ICV and linkages to no avail however when fitted the new MAFF sensor Problem solved. Happy to have fixed not so happy about the £120 for the part however took advice to buy the OE part so hopefully won't need to do again.

The performance is markedly improved, don't know how you 300 BHP+ guys manage to stay in the drivers seat
