Should my Impreza have a tdo5h?
Just removed turbo chimney as I could see 1 bolt was loose and made me wonder what was lurking underneath. Once removed I could see that it had1 bolt missing from the turbo which made me think it's clearly had something done down there. I then found the stamp on the turbo and it says td05h, is this the correct turbo for a 94 uk Impreza?

If I fit uprated fuel pump, front mount, hks air filter, decat, injectors, then get an ESL and mapped, what bhp would I be looking? Also would it be safe to run on that engine, what sort of injectors and fuel pump would I need?
Thanks for the info

I have just fitted ESL and will be sticking with 440's and keeping tmic but personally I'm not chasing numbers. When I have learnt a bit more and done plenty of logging then I will start remapping the car. I might take it for a dyno but really just looking for drivability.
350bhp is about the limit for 440's with aftermarket fpr fitted,so if your looking for bigger numbers then go to 550's or bigger. Most people choose the 6 speed box and matching diff when heading above the 350bhp mark.

Non sti so not forged internals. I suppose it depends on the car? I'm sure I have read about people running 400+ and standard internals(but for how long??) Also read about a bracing kit for the 5 speed which was tested to over 500bhp. I'm certainly no expert and you're probably best doing plenty of research if you want big numbers on a V1 Impreza (UK?)
You should be looking at new engine and box for the 400bhp I would have thought!

best to go or ring around 12pm that's when Zak is there, I think he gets his stock in the morning then turns up at the garage around 12ish,
if you go before 12 you endup talking to the guy who just runs it till zak is back, ummm the nice way to put it is he`s not so knowledgeable when it comes to subarus lol

^^^ this
you can get 400bhp on the internals but the true question is how long before it goes bang!!
the mapper will tell you what he thinks is the safest power out put for you're car.
my wrx has supporting mod to see up to 330-350bhp but my mappers advice was to keep it at 305bhp because of the internals,
that's why its important to get a good mapper not someone who just chasing big bhp on paper..
and don't forget to upgrade the brakes before map if you haven't already.
