How much water is it leaking? Have you recently fitted silicone hoses? Reason I ask is because I had this after fitting silicone hoses, and after a while they need tightening up. The bottom silicone rad hose on mine was weeping coolant and just needed nipping up after bedding in.
Other things to check would be the rad - check for signs of stains down the sides and on the fins etc.
Not sure on newage cars but on the classic there is an overflow bottle behind the pass side head light area, and often when the HG is gone the system empties itself out of there. If your only loosing a small amount of water then more than likely a hose or rad has split. But if you're loosing loads and overheating etc then get a sniff test done.
Might also be the header tank cap that its leaking out of, they sometimes leak. Replacements are pretty cheap.

Any work done on the coolant system lately?

If yes, it could be airlocked, drain and refill after searching on here "how to" without airlocking.

If no, sniff test.

Oh...and in future, one question, don't post the same twice, or you get split answers, some of which may be wrong and then go uncorrected as not everyone sees them

Default re water

had a new rad fitted today at the garage and it wouldnt fill back up. when trying to fill the system back up the rad was not getting warm and the bottom hose was still cold so not circulating round. thought it was an air lock. or i thought it could be the thermostat. the garage are sayin could be either or head gasket?? it hasnt over heated on me..

Empty out the system then re fill via the turbo coolant hose slowly. That's the best way to fill without getting any air locks. When you see the coolant start to fill the header tank re fit hose and top up the header tank. Start car with header cap off and get up to temperature, keep squeezing the top rad hose to expel any bubbles. Put cap back on check for any obvious leaks then take out for a gentle drive. Allow to cool down then check level and top up as required
Also the bottom hose will get hot when the thermostat opens.

If you're still loosing water then get a sniff test done.

Idiots have airlocked it.

You need to drain it completely, then refill after doing a search on here as to "how to" without airlocking.

i think theyre goin to do a sniff test and check the thermostat... i hoping its just an air lock. they were filling it up by the top rad hose and the header tank. but bottom hose was still cold and the water was coming back out the header tank in the end and fans were coming on... i have been driving it but only on short journeys.. not been using it as much. and been topping up the water all the time. and its not overheated on me once.

Why are you doing a sniff test when it has been filled up wrong? Drain the coolant and fill it properly and I am fairly confident that you won't have any problems.

But you will find driving it even short distances if it is airlocked you may have ****ed your headgaskets anyway now....

As alcazar says. Water should be filled through the headertank to turbo water pipe to prevent airlock. If you do a search he has done a great guide to fill the Subaru system preventing common airlock problems

ive been topping it up from the header tank and overflow... also been squuezing the rad hose to get rid of any air locks. its been leeking since dec. ive just been topping it up as it was goin down gradually. over a couple of days. found out it was the rad. so took it too the garage. and when they tried re filling it was having none of it. they closed half day so i had to leave the car with them. hoping its just an air lock or thermostat....

If its an air lock you will not have stable water levels....

So get them to sort out the air lock. Really get it sent to a subaru specialist who know how to do a simple task like fill the coolant would be my advise.

If the garage tried refilling it and it was 'having non of it' tells me the garage doesn't know what they're doing. Squeezing the pipes won't get rid of airlocks. Topping up an empty header tank can create airlocks. Draining and refilling your system the yourself proper way Is easy and will only take you 30mins

Take JGlanzaV's advice and take to someone who works on Subaru if you're not confident in doing it yourself

I'm not been funny but you are going to end up seriously damaging something if you don't get this sorted properly

What garage is it?
Taking it round the block to get rid of airlocks doesn't sound like a Subaru specialist!

Filling via the top rad hose as far as I know isn't the way it should be done but then I'm not a Subaru specialist either. I have just done the water pump on my RA and filled the system the recommended way and it's sweet

Filling through the turbo coolant hose (at the header tank) is one recommended way to fill coolant. I did it on mine, worked a treat first time.

Is exactly how I did mine and seems to be the best recommended way of doing it. I have never heard anyone say a recommended way is to fill via the top rad hose?

Not heard that one either, maybe he just referred to the hose as a rad hose in general.

Good luck anyway bud!
