Default Surefire Coil packs

Hi
Has anyone used Surefire coil packs, have seen on Ebay for a reasonable price.
Is there any gain/advantage from using them ? Are they better than originals?

When a new OEM one costs around £100 or so and you can get 4 for the price of 1.5 I wouldn't dare to try them.
Besides the ECU is calibrated to use OEM ones.

The ones in the Ebay link just look like OEM ones that have had a bit of a clean up.

Hi there

Not sure if I would upgrade Coilpacks when stock/OE works well on Subaru, you will not gain a lot with them and we are used stock WRX coilpacks on wagon, not sure if I would upgrade them there, but is up to you there

Thanks,Jura

Default SUREFIRE COILPACKS

A friend of mine bought a set of Surefire coil packs for his MITSUBISHI EVO see here:-

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MITSUBISHI...item1c4bd8f1f9

He showed them to me and said he was more than pleased with them and he reckons his car runs much better now.

I took his advice and so I bought a set of Surefire Subaru ones for £149 a set from the same place here:-

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUBARU-IMP...item1c4cac60f5

I looked at original ones at £90 each (so £360 a set) and just thought these looked a real bargain.
I've fitted them and they work perfectly. No issues with ECU either as someone mentioned.
They arrived brand new and look exactly like originals except there is no number on the grey plastic.
I think the extra output is designed to stop you running out of spark at high revs and misfiring (so I guess you could say it makes your car go faster).

I would defo recommend them anyway and have already told various friends.

Hope that helps someone.

I've not used the surefire coil packs on an Impreza but have been impressed with them on Skylines in the past.
I've also been impressed with some of the cheaper versions of the Newage coil packs from ebay. I've ran £39 a piece coil packs on my drag car to over 650hp without issue, so I'm sure they're fine for the run of the mill stuff.

Ok thanks might give them a try, may be better than used genuine ones.
Need to replace 2 due clips for wiring broken.
Running around 500hp on Syvecs ECU may need a map check/remap?

I fitted some if these two and a half years ago to my Impreza (WRX wagon with PPP), and one failed recently, I was happy with them up till then, but didn't notiçe any performance difference. I'm not sure they're as sturdy as the OEM ones.
