Most people just use ATF,
My concearn is always where had it gone? Not a consumable item.
Unless you've had the pas system appart in some way?

Any atf will do, it's not doing much work. Unlike an automatic gearbox.
Dextron 2 or 3, ATF 220, whatever you fancy.
Te new fresh stuff will be way better than the old stuff you are running.
How are you draining it?
I would pull off the return and put it in an oil drainer, put new stuff in the reservoir with engine running, lock to lock etc and flush it through
