Most parts on big builds on classics are taken from a newage, gearbox and brakes to start with.

Ok i dont know anything about the classics. Its not really the brakes or gearbox cost which is the major concern. What kind of engine work is required?

Pretty much the same as a sewage. Different options for different wants and needs.

2.0 open / semi / or closed deck block (CDB)
2.2 - Very rare and expensive but arguably the preferred choice
2.5 - Lots of negativity but once fixed provide possibly the best results for a fast road car.

All of above can be stroked or de stoked to match drivers.owners needs and wants.

You'll see a lot of people selling used STi classic parts for cheap as they've upgraded. The parts are very good but also very popular which makes them cheap.

Intercoolers for example.

You own a sti and you go FMIC - The OEM part you take off sells for cheap because the newage has better flow and is proven to produce better results. The classic uk2000 or WRX owner can now choose between spending £40 on a classic Sti upgrade or £120 on a sewage Sti upgrade.

I hope I'm making sense but tis the season ....

If your going to go classic it probs would be cheaper to start of with just a rolling shell. And then buy bits like engine gearbox etc. Thing is shifting old parts of a classic is hard now like std 4 pots gearbox etc. Well not hard but they don't* sell as quick as for example brembos of the newage. That way it would be easier n quicker to build the car as all ul have to do is but bits amd fit them rather than take olds ones off try sell them off etc imo.
