Default New age Dash Removal guide

The Heater Matrix on my 52 plate STI has just sprung a leak. Can anyone give me a link to a dash removal guide, I've tried searching on here but it would appear I'm computer illiterate cause I just can't find it!!!!!!! Also anyone know where I can get hold of a new 1 other than Sugar. After going to all the trouble & hassle of removing the dash I don't think it wise to fit a 2nd hand 1.

not a hard thing to do, no need for a guide really, the bottom half of the dash comes off first exposing the bolts and screws for the top half

Yeah, be methodical and you'll be fine. I jumped into it for the first time twice last week in as many days with two different cars. Don't force anything, it should come off relatively easily with a bit of a tug - if it doesn't then you've forgotten to remove some of the screws! I lifted the A pillar trims off and then used that to get at the heater vent bar that runs along beneath the windscreen. This allows you access to the last bolts which hold the top to the bulkhead. The rest of them it's basically a case of pulling off the lower bits of trim and then getting access to the screws holding the top onto everything. Maybe fifteen or twenty minutes of work?

Default Progress

Managed to get this far before I'd had enough, although not massively complex I don't think I could have done it without reading a few guides from American owners sites. Just gotta disconnect the Aircon & it should come out. I've bought a new Radiator which I found on the net which is due to be delivered tomorrow. It'll be interesting to see if I can remember how it all goes back together, how many screws I have left & if it starts????

Default Finished

Got the new Matrix in and all seems to be working fine apart from the A/C which I will of course have to get re-gassed. 1 tip for anyone doing it in the future would be to bolt the steering column back up after removal until the dash is ready to go back in. I didn't & managed to Knock the rubber bush/doughnut that hold's the column centrally in the fire wall out which was a real pain in the a**e to get back in.
