Default steering wheel cowling

Hi, i sold my nardi sterring wheel and boss some time ago when i was breaking the car but as per the norm i changed my mind, anyway got hold of a new nardi and boss but it seems to be catching the cowling and rubbing like mad.....? so was just wondering have i missed out a spacer or something behind the boss on the splined shaft? cheers

The cowling for an airbag equipped car has a lip on it, the nardi cowling has no lip, this might be the problem
