I've used both NF and now Millers (from Mike). I find Millers the easiest to use but both have made the car far nicer to drive (jap import). I used to put 1ml/litre in with NF (not sure if this would give a 2 RON increase, as i thought the OZ article put 5ml/litre in?????). With the Millers i put in a full bottle for £30 of Optimax (bout 40 litres), would this give more than 2 RON points as the the bottle should treat 50 litres???

Tony.

Question

Anybody any preferences to Octane Booster.

Millers seems to be cheaper, but are there any advantages to the Proboost?

I'd second NF - tried them all, my STI 1 seems to prefer it. In fact, I like it so much, I sell it !

I presumed that both offered atleast +2 octanes and therefore would be similar in performance gains aswell.

Am I right or wrong?

There was a proper test done in Australia and NF came out on top for raising Octane.Beware when they use the term Octane points its not the same as raising the RON by two.

Hmm, I sell both Millers (which I think is better for "normal" use as it gives the same increase in RON but is far more practical in application).

And NF (Black) which will give slightly higher RON increases (measured by ability to allow slightly more ignition advance with a programmable ECU), but I think is far less practical in general use is marginally more expensive.

I'm sure John Felstead also reported some while back from his extensive experience that he knew that Proboost increased general engine operating temperatures?
