Rather being abused as new user mate have a look on eBay for an OBD2 reader they are about 20 quid this will then give you a fault code that will direct you as to what is wrong with the car. Keep of the loud pedal in the mean time or don't drive it if you can.
Other than that take it to a specialist and get it diagnosed. Good luck

Thanks for your thoughts, OBD2 ordered, i will let you know what i find as il probably need helpful suggestions once the issue is diagnosed, as for the telling off I guess I deserved it but it's that time year not alot of spare cash floating about, and there's is no running issues it starts fine hot or cold, it pulls fine in every gear, no funny noises etc.

That being the case get it confirmed by a specialist not a mickey mouse garage that could lie to you. It's best not to drive it and cause and more damage. Dont lose hope it could also be worth pulling the plugs and have a look at them first before anything else

You probably have a cracked ring land, cylinder 2 or 4 are the prime culprits, try disconnecting the crank sensor and the crank it over long enough for two/three full engine rotations, if you hear a "miss" in the engine note as each cylinder passes top dead centre you have low compression on one and thats normally a ring land
