heating and cd player issue
hi guys
im new to the forum
today ive had an issue with my cd player and heating/air condioning in my 2002 bug eye sti
i purchased an alpine double din headunit which i tryed before i installed it and put all dash parts back in place, everything worked fine, i then disconected the headunit and went back to it an hour later as i was aware everything was working i went back to it and installed everything and put dash and all back together and turned the key and now both my headunit and heating/air con do not work
i thought i may have blown a fuse but ive checked every fuse and not 1 has blown
checked both fuse boxes under bonnet and under drivers dash
ive since wired my headunit into the cigarette lighter but still cant find the fault with the heating and air con
i presume ive shorted or blown something but im unaware of what
any help would be much apreciated
im getting no power from ignition hence wiring headunit to cigarette lighter to rule out it being an issue with the headunit
hope someone can help
liam

I fitted a new head unit in and few things stopped working, sounds like dislodged a cable some where, i had to take mine to electrical company who fixed it in seconds, but billed me for the hour. Think i had dislodged the cable off the back of the cigarette lighter, which shorted it out.
I'd check the cables, you may have dislodged earth or something

Thanks for the info bud
If it where the cigarette lighter that is causing the issue would that mean the cigarette lighter wouldn't work either as it's still working as it should and also if I hook cd player to the cigarette lighter it also works doing it that way
