Default Worn wiper links

I purchased a low mileage MY99 turbo 2000 saloon last weekend & the last service report noted "worn wiper links" that had been adjusted to be "as good as possible without replacement". I'm going to take a good look at the linkages this weekend & replace the 'greasy' wiper blades but can anyone shed any light on the most likely solution? Many thanks...

its a common problem on the classics, the plastic cups fail and fall apart. new linkage is the best way. buying second hand will always come back to the same issue.

I'm assuming a new linkage will be the best 'proper fix' but is it a big and/or complex job to remove the worn unit & replace it with a new one?

Hi
I've had the same problem....
There's a company on the bay that sells the 2 arms for about £30..
Takes about an hour to change them over
Hope this helps

With the wipers 'parked' the arms cab be moved a significant way up the screen! I'm assuming the linkages on eBay will help to sort that out? Is it a DIY job or am I better off getting it done by a specialist?

My offside wiper was trying to get off the the screen, when i took it apart the plastic bush at the motor end was broken....I used the eBay arms and it has sorted the problem....
Fitting wise, remove wipers and scuttle panel, you'll see 3 10mm nuts holding the spindles on,remove them, undo the wiper motor (4 10mm bolts), prise off the arm, remove the arm on the motor(noting which way it's pointing)wiggle out the whole lot towards the offside, replace arms, refitting is reverse of removal.

Hope this helps
