Default Battery Issue

OK - '96 Peugot 306

She started it up ok yesterday morning, drove for an hour to school and back, parked it up. No lights on or anything. Came back an hour later and the battery is totally totally dead, not even a light on the dashboard for ignition.

Is that just going to be a duff battery or is there anything else that might have caused it? I've checked the terminals obviously.

I've never had a battery go from hero to zero in such a short space of time but it was quite chilly in London yesterday morning. Battery about 5 years old.

Might have dropped a cell in the cold and starting yesterday?

Get someone to have a look for you.
