2008 STi Hatch Sump Guard design
Hi guys,
I have no undertray on the front of my STi hatch and whilst this makes for a really easy oil change I do want to protect the sump and filter a little better.
I could just buy an undertray but as I have an aftermarket exhaust manifold I cant see that it would fit and plus, it would be more hassle to remove than a solid sump guard IMO.
As my fiancee's father is a metalsmith, he has offered to make me a steel or alloy sump guard at work if I can come up with a template or a photo that I can try and re create.
Does anyone have an photos or templates of sump guards for the Hatch that I can use?
I would also consider making guards for the diff because lets face it, they are free and have got to be worth it with snow and lumps of ice that seem to lay around in winter which is why I really want one for the sump.
Thanks in advance

This is a picture of the Subaru part E515EFG000 (aluminium) as shown in the accessory catalogue... They also do/did a steel one E515EFG100. It might be worth getting hold of a plastic one to use as a template...

Thanks for the photo!!
To be honest, looking at the simplicity of that design I think with a little cardboard I could probably knock up a template 😎

Hi there... It's worth considering aerodynamics here - one third of a vehicles drag is from the underside. No tray will mess with under bonnet airflow also... not the best if you're still tmi. Just a thought ... : )
