Default 2006 hawkeye non turbo help

Hi I'm not overly technical but know abit but here for some wiser more knowledgeable scooby owner that can help well I've just bought myself a 2006 hawkeye non turbo it's in all perfect working order until it comes to the exhaust... So I think someone has fitted a bigger bore centre pipe maybe removed cat internals as I've got a afterburner vortex from a turbo model and it fitted strait on and sounds great but the pickup and fuel economy is terrible so I'm presuming that it's an incorrect amount of back pressure it's not the backbox as I've previously had it on a non turbo with no problem but I would also like to know the standard bore size of the centre pipe please

Any help much appreciated

Hi

I've got a Hawkeye R Sport and the standard exhaust is 2.25 inches.

Have a look at the link below - I find it very useful -

Hope this helps.

Gotta say the mpg on my 2007 hawk sport r is about the same as my my00 turbo with a remap.... Wasn't impressed! And I don't even rag it.

Yeah this is my 2nd non turbo the first being an 04 gx and that was pretty good but this is terrible but I'm getting a new exhaust made hopefully Monday with a standard size bore to put it back to a semi standard state.. Just hoping it helps as it's taken 1/3rd of a tank for rough 70 miles? Seems abit excessive to me

Mine too mate, and I brought this as a more sensible car! Not really working! Maybe it's because all the torque is high up the revs? Let us know if it works. I get 28mpg out of my classic turbo so will be working out my sport r soon and will see how they compare. I'm guessing only about 30mpg which is not helpful!

Has yours got a standard exhaust? And when you put your foot all the way to the floor what does it do as mine doesn't really do anything but I think the throttle control is fine but it's the first electric throttle I've had so don't really know?

I'm getting 40mpg out of my NA hatch impreza which I thinks pretty good for a flat four engine

Um, accelerator does make the car go fine but there is a bit a disconnected feeling compared to my classic with a proper mechanical cable.

Yeah 28mpg is driving very sensibly and not around town.

Hmmm nowhere near 40mpg out of the N/A !

If you've got a high mileage Impreza, try putting some Forte Oil Fortifier in it. This stuff in non-PTFE and really works! I usually take of some out of the bottle and shaken it up 50-50 with 5W/30 engine oil so it's mixed properly then add straight into the Oil Filler.
