Hi guys , newbie here , I purchased my first ever scoob last night, it's a 94 impreza sti import ..
but it has a slight problem, sometimes cuts out when idling , also when driving sometimes cuts out when trying to boost , but also sometimes runs spot on .. also starts up straight away after it cuts out .. any help would be great as I'm keen to learn with this car

 

Idle control valve should be first port of call

Youtube guides will take you through it,

you can check for fault codes on your version of car too using the diagnostic connectors under the dash , google the procedure , it will let you know if there is a sensor at fault

 

Thanks mate appreciate ur help .. There's a slight bit of white smoke coming from the exhaust aswell so I'm guessing the gasket on the icv as it's letting coolant through I take it ? Iv ordered the part now so will try it when it comes .. Where do u guys usually order ur parts from as knowere local stocked them
