Default difference ej20k and ej20G on the outside

Hello,
I want to know the difference on the 2 engines that i mentiond in the title. I want to know the difference on the block itself that you can see on the outside between the ej20k and ej20g or is there no difference in the outside of the engine? The external look of it. Apart from the cam covers.

Thanks in advance!

What are those two engines? Both ej20's obviously, but in what guise? I know there is no difference at all between a wrx and NA GX block both inside and out, including crank and rods.

Well i did more mean like are there difference on the outside of the block so when i buy an engine i can see if it is a ej20g or ej20k apart from the inlet manifold and stuff like that.

If you are lucky, it might still have the engine ID sticker on the center timing belt cover or on the back of the cylinder heads to tell you the exact engine type.

You already mentioned the 4cam cam covers on the EJ20G (1992 ~1996) they also have the coil packs over the spark plugs. No real way of telling if it's a WRX,RA(5th injector on the inlet manifold) or STi without stripping and checking the pistons etc.

EJ20K (1996~1998) has center mounted coil pack on the inlet manifold and HT leads and oval spark plug holes on the cam covers.
Red inlet manifold on the STi, plain alloy on WRX (unless painted or changed in the past).
Carbon composite head gaskets on WRX from the factory, MLS head gaskets on the STi.

Cylinder head codes are the same on the WRX+STi ( LH-B,RH-B ) but valvetrain and pistons differ - once again you wont know unless you strip it.
