Default Hesitation when boosting for the first time

Hi guys.

A typical hesitation query...I've nailed it down to the first time I put my foot down. It seems that the first boosting of the journey now brings on hesitation in the rev range (around 2.5k revs), after that it boosts normal as if I've 'cleared' the system. I've cleaned the MAF and Boost Solenoid and can't seem to find the issue...
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Andy

I could be wrong and I'm no mechanic, but I can remember this being similar to my mates STi and the problem ended up being the fuel pump. Might be something to consider.

Thanks for the reply, however I would have thought that a fault with the fuel pump would be present constantly, not just when the car boosts for the first time?

I had this problem, after changing loads of bits, it turned out to be HT Leads, if you can get spare leads just try and see if it sorts out the issue.

Regards

How warm is the engine when this happens?

It doesn't seem to matter but usually within the first 5-10 mins. It seems to be the first time the car boosts. I've tightened all the pipes (dump valve pipe was particularly loose) and it seems smoother so do you reckon it could gave been pressure escaping and then the ECU learning around the problem after a couple of boot fills?

Brilliant! All power to you (quite literally ).

Nice to see you were rewarded with a no-cost fix in the end, given the PITA-to-suss-based issue.
