Default Advice - how much does it cost?

Im trying to work out my finances for a new turbo.

So far I've got Turbo - £1,000
Remapped again - around £350

But how much roughly does it cost to fit a new turbo? Can someone give me a rough price so I know what to expect.

Ill be going to 370 so I won't need to upgrade the fuel pump - intercooler or injectors. Will probably do so eventually when I want more, POWERRRR!
Thanks.

Hi there

Is yours STI?

If yes then, you will need better fuel pump,if you are don't have already fuel pump upgraded,OE STI fuel pump will not flow beyond 350-360bhp,I would say lower will flow

injectors OE 550cc Pink injectors they should flow enough for 350bhp easy, beyond that I would advise get Fuel pressure regulator(FPR),with this you can run bit bigger fuel pressure and you will not max them...

TMIC should be OK,but you will see

And how long does takes to install turbo, depends on the nuts if they're not seized etc,but 2-3 hours should be enough

Thanks,Jura

Thanks for the reply. I was told by JGM that I would be able to get 370 with only changing the turbo and a map, Simon mentioned that 370 would be achievable but if I wanted to go higher then I would have to start upgrading all that stuff - Pump - Injectors - Intercooler etc.
And yes its an STI

Going on your icon picture you have bugeye. Assuming it's the original pump that's now 12+ years old and they do deteriorate. And you want more from it.
As Jura says change your pump. It will cost you around £70 and an hour's work and will save you the cost of a pressure regulator.

So I should get a fuel pump 'just to be safe'?
Ill probably just buy all this stuff then save fitting until JGM is back over.

Edit: What fuel pump should I be looking at? Upgraded one or just a standard replacement? And what Pump comes standard on the STI's?

Thanks.

There's no point fitting a standard Subaru replacement pump. You have already said "I want more, POWERRRR!"
A Walbro 255 will do what you need, plus give some head room for future modest upgrades. A 255 will run up to about 450bhp before you need to think about an even bigger output pump.

Excellent £77.99 for that on ScoobyWorld.

Ok so just to list what I need so far to get it all started:

Turbo - which is a SC42
Fuel Pump - Walbro 255
Remap - will be going JGM.

That will do for 370bhp.

Yep avoid the fleabay copies. Pay a little more from a reputable dealer and you'll get what you pay for.
Have a look here for fitting guides https://www.scoobynet.com/technical-...re-newage.html

Maybe £200-£300 depending on condition and how desperate somebody is to buy a used standard turbo
